ETHICS
Both legal and medical interpreters have a code of ethics.
The basic principals are:
- INTERPRET ACCURATELY
- BE IMPARTIAL
- AVOID CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
- BE PROFESSIONAL
- MAINTAIN CONFIDENTIALITY
- DO NOT GIVE ADVICE OR OPINIONS
- RECOGNIZE LIMITATIONS
- CONFORM TO TITLE VI
